About Us Roberts & Son Black Oxide Specialist Inc. was established in 1988 by Timothy Roberts, with himself as the only employee. In 1992, Matthew Roberts, Tim’s younger brother, was hired and is now the plant manager. Tim’s son, Nicholas Roberts has been involved in the business since age 14 and now is a full time Firefighter/Paramedic, but still enjoys getting his hands dirty at the shop on needed occasions. Our 8000 sq. ft. facility is located in Roseville Michigan with convenient access from M-97 (Groesbeck HWY), I-94 or I-696. Click here for map. We can certify to many specifications, please inquire. We are capable of handling the smallest of jobs to production work with an overall capacity of 93” (single dip) and up to 1000 lbs. Turn around time for most jobs is 24 hours.
